The UnionLabs Community Workshop brings together researchers, educators, testbed operators, industry practitioners, and government stakeholders to advance an open and federated ecosystem for experimental wireless research. The workshop provides a forum for sharing research challenges, technical solutions, operational experience, and community needs related to the federation of heterogeneous wireless testbeds, remote experimentation, reproducible research, and shared cyberinfrastructure.
Topics of interest include testbed federation and interoperability, experiment orchestration, cloud-edge integration, software-defined wireless platforms, open-source tools, security and trust, resource discovery and scheduling, dataset sharing, reproducibility, education and workforce development, and emerging applications involving 5G/6G, Internet of Things, UAV networks, rural connectivity, and AI-native wireless systems. The workshop will also facilitate discussions on sustainable governance models, community engagement, and future research directions for building a broadly accessible national wireless experimentation ecosystem.
